Esiste un legame, invisibile ma profondo, tra Occidente e Oriente, un legame che supera l'origine della civiltà per spingersi fino in fondo all'origine dell'uomo.

Anche il più scettico degli occidentali, il più convinto assertore del pragmatismo su cui si basa la nostra civiltà, dentro di sé coglie un vago senso di nostalgia per l'Oriente.

L'Oriente è dentro ciascuno di noi.

Ciò che viene dall'Oriente è carico di fascino e di mistero, lo stesso mistero di cui è fatta la parte più dimenticata di noi stessi.

L'Oriente è il luogo da cui , fin dall'antichità, arrivano i mercanti carichi di merci preziose. Medhat Shafik è un artista egiziano che opera in Occidente e arriva col suo carico di oggetti ammantati di mistero. Propone l'idea di un artista che è dunque un viandante, un mercante, uno sciamano, un mago.

Di sicuro, egli distribuisce emozioni scavando nell'angolo più misterioso dell'uomo occidentale.

It exists an invisible and important connection between the West and the Orient, a link with the origin of civilisation up to man's one.

Even the most sceptic of western people, the most pragmatic one feels nostalgic about Oriental world.

The Orient is inside each of us.

What comes from the Orient is full of charm and mystery which is the same one ourselves deep part is made of.

Since ancient times the Orient is the place of merchants with their precious goods. Medhat Shafik is an Egyptian artist who works in the West and comes loaded with his objects full of mystery. He suggests the idea of an artist like a wayfarer, a merchant, a shaman, a magician.


Surely, he gives emotions away entering into the most mysterious part of western man.
